First up is the look of the map, I love it. They are listed in chronological order with the most recently released map at the top. His first two were both good maps but this is at least an order of magnitude better than Golconda and Ash Rain. The layout is certainly compact but it is very cleverly thought out. The bots don't collect the Rocket Launcher or Megahealth due to them requiring a jump to reach. Lighting is adequate with no obvious decorative touches.

Vertical connectivity is present in abundance with a mixture of bounce pads, stairs and teleporters scattered throughout. However, after a few games on the piece with some good quality bots I have changed my mind at least about the first criticism.

With a map of this size the gameplay is bound to be fast and intense and IK3DM1 is no exception. No changes have been made to it apart from the conversion and updated level screenshot.

The two flanking smaller atria are connected via bal3vm3 series of short corridors and a two way teleporter. The bots handle Coriolis Storm with aplomb and the deliberate choice of opponents with brownish skins and appropriate weapon preferences mean that games are sufficiently challenging. It is a small map and is essentially a two level affair with some small changes of altitude in strategic locations so as not to make the map feel flat. Some games will require you to relaunch them before the item will be downloaded.

This map feels big and it does have quite a large footprint but the feeling of space mostly comes from the very strong vertical element of the piece. This is a brilliant map and one which you should definitely have on your hard disk, download it now.

Problem Sep 26, With a solid layout and fantastic connectivity this piece is refreshing change from the consistent feel of the standard Quake III maps. Thanks Bxl3dm3 this map rocks! Well lit without being fancy. If you only download a few custom maps for Quake III make sure that these are the ones you pick. Map has a bug there is a wierd wheel spawning. As you would expect from one of Quake's most prolific mappers, the looks are superb.

A definite "must have", grab it immediately. It bak3dm3 that Hubster has a similar taste. Although the author regards this map to be primarily a 1on1 affair, I prefer a larger FFA with about 4 players.

Lighting is also excellent with good use spotlights and adequate illumination throughout. The Grenade Launcher is also a useful weapon from the upper tiers. The items and weapons are well distributed. There bal3em3 three atria, the central of which is the largest and tends to host the majority of the action.

Friction has used some stock id textures with a unique combination of Meatpak, Than's Industrial and Lun's Bxl3dm3 sets.
